Moving the same site to new hosting — a faster server, a different provider, or consolidating multiple sites under one account.
Platform-to-Platform
Moving content and structure from one platform to another, for example Wix or Squarespace to WordPress, or WordPress to Shopify.
HTTP to HTTPS
Forcing secure connections site-wide, fixing mixed-content warnings, and updating internal links so nothing points to the old insecure version.
How a Migration Runs
Backup & Plan
A full backup of the current site is taken and confirmed restorable before anything else happens.
Move Content
Pages, media, and structure are transferred to the new host or platform, working from a copy so the live site stays untouched.
Map Redirects & Cut Over
Old URLs are redirected to their new equivalents, then DNS or the platform switch is made live, timed for the lowest-traffic window practical.
Verify Everything
Forms, checkout, email routing, and redirects are checked one by one — not assumed fine because the homepage loads.
What We Watch For
Search Rankings
Proper 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones, so search engines carry existing rankings forward instead of starting over.
Email Delivery
MX records and email routing are checked separately from the website, since a DNS change can silently break email if it is missed.
Forms & Integrations
Contact forms, payment gateways, and third-party integrations are tested after the move, not just the pages themselves.
A Rollback Plan
Because a backup exists before the migration starts, reverting is possible if something unexpected goes wrong.
Migration Questions
How long does a migration take?
It depends on site size and whether it is a same-platform host move or a full platform change. We give a time estimate once the scope is confirmed through Request a Task.
Will my search rankings be affected?
Properly mapped redirects carry most ranking signal forward, but some fluctuation after any URL change is normal and outside what any migration can fully control. We map every redirect we can identify to minimize the impact.
Do you need access to both the old and new hosting?
Yes, access to both the source and destination is needed to move content and verify the result, scoped to what the migration requires.
What if something breaks during cutover?
Because a tested backup exists before the migration starts, we can revert to the previous state while the issue is resolved.
